A report by the Environmental Audit Committee into the quality of water in our rivers has been published, highlighting serious issues with the health of our rivers in England. Not a single river in England has received a clean bill of health for chemical contamination. The dangerous ‘chemical cocktail’ of sewage, slurry and plastic pollution put public health at risk. Find out British Canoeing’s response and read the full report below. |

Call for action on wet wipes |
Sick of paddling with wet wipes? Ever done a paddle clean up and found more than you expected? Sadly more and more of us are finding plastic wet wipes littering our inland and coastal waters often caught up in the branches of trees following the discharge of storm overflows during heavy rain. It is time to take action and tell government you support a ban on these plastic products. Share you view below. |
